President Donald Trump will reportedly hold campaign rallies this weekend in Iowa and Kansas after having canceled them to instead hold a bunch of virtual ones.

The Associated Press reported, citing a "person familiar with the plans," that Trump would appear Sunday for rallies in each state.

Trump planned to hold the tele-rallies to reach a wider audience, resulting in speculation that he and fellow Washington Republicans had given up efforts to try to keep the Senate seat.

However, incumbent Kansas Sen. Roger Marshall suggested Trump on Thursday canceled their rally because of his strong poll performances, so Trump's time would be spent better elsewhere.

Marshall is facing a close reelection race against Democratic nominee Adam Hamilton, while Iowa Rep. Ashley Hinson is running against Democrat Josh Turek to fill the seat of retiring GOP Sen. Joni Ernst.

Polls show the races in each of the Republican-leaning states are essentially deadlocked.
