Trump reflects on Charlie Kirk at TPUSA rally: 'Charlie's voice is not silenced, it's roaring'
Kirk, an influential voice in the conservative movement and one of the president's known allies, was assassinated at a rally in Utah last September.
President Donald Trump reflected on the loss of the late Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at a rally Friday in Arizona, stating that the founder's assassination did not silence the movement but instead strengthened it.
Kirk, an influential voice in the conservative movement and one of the president's allies, was assassinated at a rally in Utah last September.
"Seven months ago, our country lost a fearless warrior...Charlie Kirk, just an amazing guy," Trump said. “Charlie was murdered by a cruel and vicious assassin who believed that by silencing his voice, he could kill an entire giant movement.
"Standing here today, it's clear to see that Charlie's voice is not silenced," he continued. "It's roaring, and roaring back louder, frankly, than ever before.”
Kirk's wife, Erika Kirk, has since attempted to honor her late-husband's legacy by taking over the organization, and has embarked on a campus tour. She was previously scheduled to speak at a rally with Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday but had to cancel her appearance because of security risks.
Erika Kirk did speak at the Arizona rally, where Turning Point USA is headquartered, to introduce Trump.
“As Americans, we are all privileged to live in the greatest country in the world," she said. “Is it perfect? No, it's not. Do we have problems to solve? Of course, of course we do. But our country is the best that we have, and I do not want to lose it.”
