GOP Rep Stefanik announces New York gubernatorial bid

New York GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik on Friday officially announced she is running for governor of New York.

Stefanik made the announcement through her campaign in a video shared on social media, according to the Associated Press.

She will challenge incumbent Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul in the 2026 race.
