Colorado prosecutors raise Boulder injury count from 12 to 15
Authorities previously reported that 12 people were injured in the attack, including eight people who were hospitalized. Additional details on the new injuries have not been disclosed so far.
The Boulder County District Attorney's Office on Wednesday said the injury count in the terror attack over the weekend has risen from 12 to 15, plus one dog, and the ages of the victims range from 25 to 88-years-old.
Egyptian national Mohamed Sabry Soliman has been accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at residents in Boulder, Colorado during a vigil on Sunday that honored Israeli hostages in Gaza. He has been charged with 16 counts of attempted first-degree murder, and has yet to enter a plea.
Authorities previously reported that 12 people were injured in the attack, including eight people who were hospitalized. Additional details on the new injuries have not been disclosed so far.
Soliman, who has also been charged with a federal hate crime and possession of an incendiary device, allegedly resorted to Molotov cocktails after he was denied access to a gun because he was not an American citizen, per ABC News.
The suspect claimed that he learned to make the explosives from YouTube, and 16 unused Molotov cocktails were within "arm’s reach" at the time of his arrest, the FBI said.
Soliman's wife and their five children are currently in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody because the family is in the United States on an expired visa. They are being processed for expedited removal.
