Former NBA star Shawn Kemp arrested in connection with drive-by shooting

Former NBA star Shawn Kemp was arrested in Washington state in connection with a drive-by shooting, according to law enforcement.

Kemp, a six-time NBA All-Star, was booked into the Pierce County jail on Wednesday afternoon, records show

Police officers responded to reports of shots fired in a mall in the city of Tacoma, earlier that day, officials said. 

A police report obtained by CBS News states officers located the suspect who had fired off the shots on Tacoma Mall property and detained him without incident and that a firearm was recovered from the scene. The intended victim or victims reportedly fled the scene.

No injuries were reported. 

Kemp, 53, played in the National Basketball Association from 1989 to 2003, spending most of his career with the Seattle SuperSonics.
