A woman from Indiana was arrested and charged in Washington, D.C., for allegedly threatening to kill President Trump, according to the Justice Department.

Nathalie Rose Jones, 50, of Lafayette, Ind., was arrested on Saturday after allegedly making threats on social media to kill Trump, U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro announced Monday.

According to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court, Jones was charged with threatening to take the life of, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon the U.S. president, and transmitting in interstate commerce communications containing threats to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another.

“Threatening the life of the President is one of the most serious crimes and one that will be met with swift and unwavering prosecution. Make no mistake—justice will be served,” Pirro said.

From Aug. 2-9, the U.S. Secret Service observed that the Instagram user account “nath.jones” posted comments calling for Trump's removal, labeling him a terrorist, referring to his administration as a dictatorship, and claiming that he had caused extreme and unnecessary loss of life regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Then, between Aug. 6 and Aug. 15, “Nath.Jones” allegedly posted on Facebook more threatening comments toward Trump. On Aug. 6, a post from the account that was directed at the FBI said, “I am willing to sacrificially kill this POTUS by disemboweling him and cutting out his trachea with Liz Cheney and all The Affirmation present.”

In another post on Aug. 14, directed to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Jones allegedly wrote, “please arrange the arrest and removal ceremony of POTUS Trump as a terrorist on the American People from 10-2pm at the White House on Saturday, August 16th, 2025.”

The Secret Service on Friday conducted a voluntary interview with Jones, during which she stated the president was a “terrorist” and a “nazi,” that if she had the opportunity, she would take his life and kill him at “the compound” if she had to.

She also said that she had a “bladed object,” which she claimed was the weapon she would use to “carry out her mission of killing” Trump. The DOJ also said that she told the Secret Service she wanted to “avenge all the lives lost during the Covid-19 pandemic,” which she attributed to Trump’s administration and its position on vaccinations.

Jones joined a protest on Saturday that began at Dupont Circle, in Washington, D.C., and circumnavigated the White House complex. After the march, the Secret Service interviewed her again, during which she admitted that she had made threats toward Trump in her interview the previous day. However, she denied having any present desire to harm him.

She was arrested by law enforcement and confirmed that she owns the Facebook user account “Nath Jones” and had posted the threatening comments.
