A suspect in the plot to detonate explosives to kill people at a massive Lady Gaga concert this past weekend in Rio de Janeiro was recently deported from the U.S., according to Brazilian authorities.

The suspect, Luis da Silva, 44, allegedly planned to set up bombs close to the stage where the singer was performing and was going to record the aftermath when the bombs went off.

Silva has been charged only with a gun violation and has been released on bail, according to The New York Post.

Roughly 2.5 million fans attended the concert.

Brazilian authorities say Silva was deported from the U.S. last month and are investigating why he was deported.

Silva, along with a 17-year-old boy, were removed from the concert hours before it started, in authorities successful effort to foil the plot.

Police say both of them were trying to radicalize people to carry out attacks on LGBTQ community members attending the concert.

“They planned to use Molotov cocktails and explosive backpacks,” the police complaint says.
