Universities to hold 'Pride Camps' for middle school and high school students

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and the University of Evansville are set to host “pride camps” for middle school and high school students this summer, according to a report from Campus Reform.

“Pride camps are designed for students to socialize and learn with friends, gaining a deeper understanding of queer history, health topics and wellness,” the University of Wisconsin Green Bay website states. 

The camp will host the high schoolers and middle schoolers in separate sessions this summer.  

The University of Evansville in Indiana is also hosting a pride camp that has a goal to empower “queer/questioning youth and allies to discover their authentic selves and build a caring, supportive community of peers.”

“Build lifelong friends with incredible activities throughout the week while learning about social justice and activism," the website reads. 

This camp is open to people as young as 13.

Different sessions at the camp include “Future of LGBTQ+ concerns in politics” and “Exploration of LGBTQ+ topics in various fields of study."
