The Federal Aviation Administration reported that the tailpipe of one of a Delta Air Lines plane's engines caught fire on Monday at Orlando International Airport, prompting the evacuation of passengers who were reportedly uninjured.

Delta Air Lines Flight 1213 was pushing back from the gate, preparing for departure at around 11:15 a.m., when an engine caught fire.

Passengers exited the plane via emergency evacuation slides as fire rescue crews responded to extinguish the fire.

The Airbus A330 was scheduled to depart for Atlanta with 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants and two pilots on board, Fox 35 News reported.

"Nothing is more important than safety and Delta teams will work to get our customers to their final destinations as soon as possible," a Delta spokesperson told Fox 35 News in a statement, adding that flight crews followed established safety procedures after noticing the fire.

It is not yet known what caused the flames. The maintenance teams will be inspecting the plane.
