Ford Motor Corp. will raise the price of its electric F-150 for the second time in as many months, a sign of the continued difficulties automakers face in an economy rife with supply chain issues and record inflation.

The company's F-150 Lightning will run consumers $52,000, up from $40,000 when production first began in April.

The company had already raised the price of the truck $7,000 in August amid substantial difficulties with inflation and parts procurement, factors that have plagued most auto manufacturers for much of 2022.

The company itself said â€œongoing supply chain constraints, rising material costs and other market factors" were responsible for the price hikes.
