Savannah Guthrie renews pleas for alleged kidnappers to return mother Nancy Guthrie

"Today" show co-host Savannah Guthrie renewed her pleas Monday for the alleged kidnappers of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, to return her and give her back to her family.

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February and is believed to have been kidnapped. The elder Guthrie is 84 and has limited mobility and health problems. She was last seen alive at her home in Tucson, Arizona, on Jan. 31.

Savannah Guthrie attempted to appeal to her mother's alleged kidnappers in a social media video, asking them to "do the right thing," and emphasized that her family has been living in a "nightmare that will not end."

"The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place, and I know that you have tried to do things the right way," Savannah Guthrie said in a post on Instagram. "So I am asking you, begging you, to do the right thing now."

The plea comes after a California man pleaded guilty earlier this month to writing a fake ransom note to the Guthrie family. Authorities have said two notes were sent to media outlets and sources told CBS News that one ransom note that was sent to the family days after the mother's disappearance demanded millions in bitcoin. The second one revealed she allegedly died.

No confirmation of Nancy Guthrie's death has been reported so far and there are no known suspects or leads from investigators.
