Kansas GOP Attorney General Kris Kobach on Monday called on Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate climate lawfare being pushed by China through a grant organization.

"Environmental lawfare poses a growing challenge for American industry and the American consumer because it drives up energy costs, as President Trump noted in recent executive orders," Kobach writes in the opening of the letter. "It also weakens our national security and places us at a strategic disadvantage with our adversaries in China."

Kobach recently testified at a Senate Judiciary Subcommittee at which he said the grant organization, Energy Foundation China, funds left-wing climate advocacy groups that advocate against American energy.

You can read the letter here:

"This CCP connection—centered around the EFC—places a whole new lens over the climate lawfare campaign occurring in U.S. courts," the letter reads. "It is one thing to watch left-wing law firms and non-profits use laws designed to impose extraterritorial burdens to advance their radical policy interests in the courtrooms of America to the detriment of our consumers and our economy; but when such legal actions are tied to China, it likely reveals a foreign adversarial attack on American energy independence."

While Energy Foundation China is registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and has its headquarters in California, most of its employees are based in Beijing, according to Fox News.

EFC's ties to the CCP were first exposed by a group called State Armor

“Every day Communist China is waging a war on American energy to make us more reliant [on] technology that is built and controlled by the CCP," State Armor CEO Michael Lucci said in a statement.

"While environmentalists call this ‘green energy,’ in reality it's largely ‘red tech’ controlled by Communist China and chock full of kill switches to disable our energy grid. As part of their strategy to control our energy grid and supply chains, they control non-profits and co-opt left-wing environmental groups to drive the CCP's agenda through our own court systems and universities. It's a classic CCP influence op with a healthy dose of CCP-style lawfare."
