Ford to relocate its global headquarters to larger building for first time in nearly 70 years
The new location, dubbed the Henry Ford II World Center, will house six design studios, a showroom for product reviews, a 160,000-square-foot food hall, wellness rooms and more than 300 tech-enabled meeting rooms.
Ford Motor Company recently announced it will be moving its global headquarters a few miles from its iconic "Glass House" headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, marking the first move of its world headquarters in nearly 70 years.
The company has been located in the "Glass House" headquarters since 1956. The old building is expected to be demolished once the move is complete in the first half of 2026, but the demolition is expected to take approximately 18 months.
The new building is expected to be twice the size of the Glass House headquarters, spanning 2.1 million square feet, and will bring multiple departments, including engineering, design and technology, under one roof, Fox News reported.
"This is more than just a new building; it’s a catalyst for innovation and a physical symbol of our Ford+ transformation," the company's Executive Chairman Bill Ford and CEO Jim Farley said in a letter to employees. "To win in this new era, we must work more closely together than ever before."
