Vice President JD Vance and first son Donald Trump Jr. appear to be strengthening their ties to Turning Point USA, Axios reported on Tuesday, by appearing at multiple events in the coming months.

The vice president was known to be a close friend of late Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, who died earlier this month after being shot in the neck at a Turning Point event in Utah.

The organization, which is now being run by Kirk's widow Erika Kirk, is embarking on a national campus tour to engage and excite young American voters about conservative politics. Other major conservative players, like Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and former Fox News host Megyn Kelly, have also appeared on the tour.

The exact dates that Vance and Trump will appear at Turning Point USA events were not immediately clear, but White House officials want to make sure that the movement remains successful after Kirk's death, the outlet reported.

"[The men] were so personally close to Charlie that they are determined to do right by him and continue to work closely with Turning Point," an unnamed source told Axios. "I would expect to see both of them turn up at TPUSA events over the next several months and long after that. They understand that Turning Point is now Charlie's political legacy and they both want to help grow it to be bigger and more influential than ever."

The next event is later Tuesday at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. Another event will be held in Montana on Oct. 7.
