Ivanka Trump sends heartfelt message to father after failed assassination attempt: 'I love you Dad'
The former first daughter thanked law enforcement 'for their quick and decisive actions' as she continued to pray for the nation
Ivanka Trump offered a heartfelt message to her father after yesterday's failed assassination attempt. The former first daughter and presidential advisor thanked well-wishers for their "love and prayers" for her father after the "senseless violence" on Saturday.
"I am grateful to the Secret Service and all the other law enforcement officers for their quick and decisive actions today," Ivanka Trump's statement read.
Donald Trump echoed his daughter's comments in a Truth Social post, Page Six reported.
"I want to thank the United States Secret Service, and all of law enforcement for their rapid response to the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania," Donald Trump wrote in a statement reposted on X.
"I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the rally who was killed and also the family of another person that was badly injured," Donald Trump's statement continued.
The attempt on Donald Trump's life came one day before the second anniversary of the death of Ivanka Trump's mother, Ivana Trump. Ivanka Trump shared her view on X that her late mother "was watching over Dad last night during the attempt on his life."
"I miss her every day and pray for the safety of the family and friends she left behind," wrote Ivanka Trump of her mother, who passed "after falling down a staircase in her Manhattan home," the New York Post reported.
