NC Rep. Harris says he thinks the bulk of the MAGA base supports Trump amid Israel-Iran conflict
Trump said earlier this week that he will make a decision within the next two weeks on whether the U.S. becomes directly involved in the Israel-Iran conflict.
Congressman Mark Harris, R-N.C., said Friday that he believes a good chunk of the "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) base is with President Donald Trump as a decision awaits on how to deal with the Iran-Israel conflict.
"I think the bulk of MAGA is really standing with the president and trust him," Harris said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "And he understands the sensitivity with which he is approaching this very important issue."
Trump said earlier this week that he will make a decision within the next two weeks on whether the U.S. becomes directly involved in the Israel-Iran conflict.
Trump has seemed to go back and forth in recent days about if, how or to what extent the U.S. would get involved, likely with providing some type of military support to Israel, the United States' longest and closest Middle East ally.
The decision follows Israeli airstrikes on Iran last week and amid the United States' failing efforts to get Tehran to stop the enrichment of uranium to make a nuclear weapon.
"He's getting all the facts," Harris said, referencing Trump. "He's leaving room for negotiations. He has continued to tell Iran they need to come to the table again and again.
