Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang part of US delegation to Beijing, boarded Air Force One in Alaska
Trump confirmed on Truth Social that Huang was on board Air Force One and that he would be a part of an entourage of business leaders joining the president at the summit.
President Donald Trump invited Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, to join him on Air Force One as it heads to China for Trump's summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Huang wasn't on the list of business leaders invited to the summit, and when Trump found out, he extended an invitation to him in a personal phone call, according to the New York Times.
Huang, who heads the world's most valuable company, flew to Alaska to board Air Force One during a layover. For the past year, Huang has been lobbying in China and Washington, D.C., hoping Nvidia's artificial intelligence chips can gain access to the Chinese market.
On Tuesday, Trump confirmed on Truth Social that Huang was on board Air Force One and that he would be a part of an entourage of business leaders joining the president at the summit, which includes Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Blackrock CEO Larry Fink.
"I will be asking President Xi, a Leader of extraordinary distinction, to 'open up' China so that these brilliant people can work their magic, and help bring the People’s Republic to an even higher level!" Trump said.
