Prominent pollster McLaughlin weighs the possibility of Trump flipping New York red for 2024
According to McLaughlin, 58% of Americans say that they believe President Joe Biden is behind these Trump indictments, making them political.
Prominent pollster and strategic consultant John McLaughlin weighs in on the possibility of former President Donald Trump flipping New York red in 2024, saying New Yorkers aren't a fan of the ongoing cases against the 45th president.
"Leticia James, the [New York] Attorney General, instead of prosecuting criminals, she's trying to confiscate Donald Trump's wealth [and] take away his real estate holdings. And for no real crime, because there are no victims. The banks made money and he paid all his loans back on time," McLaughlin said on the Tuesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "They railroaded him in the courts."
James' office was seeking to seize Trump's assets after she alleged that Trump manipulated the value of his assets to secure favorable loan terms and lower insurance premiums. However, he recently posted a $175 million bond in that case, which would delay her efforts.
According to McLaughlin, 58% of Americans say that they believe President Joe Biden is behind these Trump indictments, making them political.
"The majority of Americans say he's trying to put Trump in jail to stop him from winning the election," he said.
McLaughlin also slammed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for going after Trump while crime runs rampant in the city.
"Alvin Bragg, who's the Manhattan DA, who ... when the cops get beat up in Times Square by Venezuelan gangs who are here illegally, what do they do?" he asked. "They let the gangs go and the cops get beat up. So he's going to prosecute Trump next on some phony charges."
