President Donald Trump on Friday excoriated the long-discredited Russia collusion hoax against, contending that those who supported the narrative should face consequences.

Baseless allegations of working with the Russians to influence the 2016 election outcome led to Trump facing an investigation from special counsel Robert Mueller and the alleged scandal weighed on his public opinion figures in the first term.

"The Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX is now TOTALLY  UNDISPUTED! THE FACTS ARE ALL THERE, IN BLACK AND WHITE," Trump posted on Truth Social. "It is the biggest scandal in American History. The perpetrators of this CRIME must pay a big price. This can never be allowed to happen in our Country again!"

Trump made the remarks after FBI Director Kash Patel, this week, found what he called a "vault" or "lockbox" of documents related to the probe that included "hidden" evidence related to the matter.
