Trump calls himself, Netanyahu war heroes
"He’s a war hero, because we work together," President Trump said
President Trump called himself and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu war heroes while referencing the U.S. strikes in June on Iran's nuclear sites.
"Bibi is a good man," Trump told Mark Levin on Tuesday, referring to Netanyahu, The Hill news outlet reported. "He’s in there fighting. He’s fighting. You know, they’re trying to put him in jail on top of everything else. How about that? He’s a war hero, because we work together. He’s a war hero. I guess I am, too."
The president added, “The pilots came. I rewarded them. I brought them all to the Oval Office. The people having to do with that whole operation, which was so perfect, which was a total of, you know, just an obliteration.”
The B-2 pilots who carried out the strikes visited the White House for the July 4th holiday. They had carried out the unprecedented attack on Iran, called Operation Midnight Hammer, dropping 30,000-pound bombs on underground nuclear enrichment facilities from “bunker busters” that took off undetected from a base in Missouri.
Israel and Iran exchanged many airstrikes in June.
Meanwhile, Israel is continuing its war against Hamas in Gaza. In November, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu, accusing him of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
