Trump tells Dershowitz he should seek to vacate 2019 impeachment based on new intelligence evidence
Trump signaled that he'd like famed Harvard law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz to pursue having the 2019 impeachment expunged based on declassified memos showing derogatory evidence regarding the whistle blower complaint that prompted the impeachment procedures.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday signaled that he wants famed Harvard law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, who represented him in Trump's 2019 impeachment in the House, to pursue having the impeachment expunged.
On Sunday, Just the News reported on recently declassified memos showing that the CIA analyst who prompted the 2019 Ukraine-focused impeachment of President Donald Trump submitted false information in his whistleblower complaint, among other derogatory evidence.
Dershowitz said during an interview Monday night on the Just the News, No Noise television show that the bombshell new evidence could be grounds to expunge the impeachment, which ended in acquittal.
"It's never been done. I don't see any reason why it couldn't be done," Dershowitz said. "It's never been done. I don't see any reason why it couldn't be done."
On his Truth Social platform on Tuesday, Trump shared the Just the News story about the interview, saying, "Alan [Dershowitz], one of the greats, should do it!"
