Trump urges prayers for Charlie Kirk after shooting: 'God bless him!'

President Donald Trump called for prayers on Wednesday following the apparent shooting of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.
"We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!" he posted on Truth Social.
Video footage showed Kirk speaking at the school in an open-air event, before being blown off of his stool amid the sound of gunfire. He appeared to sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and his status is unclear.
FBI Director Kash Patel has confirmed that his agency is monitoring the situation.
"We are closely monitoring reports of the tragic shooting involving Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University," he said in a statement. "Our thoughts are with Charlie, his loved ones, and everyone affected. Agents will be on the scene quickly and the FBI stands in full support of the ongoing response and investigation."
