Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado, D-N.Y., on Tuesday announced that he would end his campaign for the Democratic nomination for New York governor, effectively handing the primary to Gov. Kathy Hochul.

"’ve decided to end my campaign for Governor of New York. After much consideration, I’ve concluded that there simply is no viable path forward," he said in a statement. "And though my campaign has come to an end, I fully intend to do all I can in our effort to build a more humane, affordable, and equitable state that serves all New Yorkers. I will also support Democrats in our effort to hold the line against Trump and take back our democracy."

Delgado had challenged Hochul for the Democratic nod amid high-profile public rows between the pair. His decision to drop out follows Hochul securing the endorsement of every New York House Democrat as well as NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
