Conservatives livid over farm worker deportations pause, some blame Brooke Rollins
When Trump first floated the idea of a pause, digital backlash was so severe that he subsequently issued a follow-up post on Truth Social post insisting he would deport them all.
President Donald Trump's recent decision to pause deportations at farms and hotels has drawn ire from his supporters, many of whom have blamed Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and the agricultural lobby for what they perceive as a betrayal.
"Brooke has always been suspect on immigration, among other things," wrote American Majority CEO Ned Ryun. "She’s a Perry/Bush Republican who grifts off the America First movement to self promote. Before America First she grifted off of the conservative movement in Texas. She’s always been a grifting establishment ladder climber who will be whatever she needs to be to advance herself."
Rollins was reportedly responsible for pushing Trump to support a pause on deportations for the agriculture and hospitality industries in light of the labor disruption that would come from mass deportations. Rollins, for her part, has insisted that she supported Trump's immigration agenda.
"The President and I have consistently advanced a 'Farmers First' approach, recognizing that American households depend upon a stable and LEGAL agricultural workforce," she said. "Severe disruptions to our food supply would harm Americans. It took us decades to get into this mess and we are prioritizing deportations in a way that will get us out."

But conservatives just aren't having it.
"Cracking down on employers immediately would be the best way to boost self deportations. But we aren't doing that?" wrote Rasmussen Reports' Mark Mitchell.
"The Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins thinks you're a 'Grifter' if you're upset with the exceptions that are being made for employers in farming, hospitality, and leisure if they hire illegal aliens," wrote podcast host Shawn Farash. "Nice to know. Thanks for spitting in our faces, Madam Secretary."
