First disclosure of Elon Musk's super PAC shows heavy spending in Texas, Maine races
The PAC reported just over $800,000 in expenditures supporting Republican candidates and opposing their Democratic opponents in the 12-day period.
Between Aug. 19 and Aug. 31, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's America PAC spent $123,000 opposing James Talarico, the Democratic nominee in Texas' Senate race, and approximately $125,000 supporting Republican nominee, Attorney General Ken Paxton.
The PAC reported just over $800,000 in expenditures supporting Republican candidates and opposing their Democratic opponents in the 12-day period, Fox News reported.
America PAC also spent approximately $135,000 against Troy Jackson, the Democratic nominee in Maine's Senate race, and about $35,000 supporting incumbent GOP Sen. Susan Collins.
The PAC also spent on the Senate races in Michigan, Ohio and New Hampshire, as well as some House races in states like New York, Florida and Wisconsin.
Printing expenses made up the bulk of spending, which was paid out to Storytellers Group, a political vendor that specializes in direct-mail work.
