The New York Police Department arrested roughly 10 pro-Palestinian protesters Wednesday at Barnard College-Columbia University after they staged a sit-in at the school's main academic building, then refused to evacuate for a bomb threat, according to a news report.

The protest was the second in a week at the Upper West Side school over the expulsion of two students for distributing what officials said were fliers with "violent imagery" during a class about Israel, CBS News New York reports.

Police warned protesters that those who refusing to leave during the evacuation would be subject to arrest.

At about 8 p.m., police announced that the threat was “investigated and cleared.”

Videos on social media show protesters inside the building earlier Wednesday afternoon chanting, playing drums and hanging Palestinian flags on walls. Many of them wore kaffiyeh scarves and other coverings obscuring their faces, according to the Associated Press.
