The Trump administration has halted over $500 million in federal funding to Brown University due to the Ivy League school's response to antisemitism after the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel.
A White House official told The Associated Press that millions awarded to the school in grants and contracts is on the line.
Brown Provost Frank Doyle on Thursday told campus staff in an email that the school is hearing rumors about funds being cut for the university's research, but there isn't enough "information to substantiate" these claims.
Several Ivy League schools have had funding suspended due to responses to antisemitism on campus following the beginning of the Israel-Hamas war, according to Fox News.
