Andrew Cuomo rips Democrats' autopsy report as 'disingenuous'

“[Biden] got on the debate stage, and it was obvious to everyone. You didn’t have to be a psychiatric or a medical professional to realize he was not up to the job,” Cuomo said on WABC radio’s “The Pulse of the People” show.

Former New York Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo joined the chorus of Democrats blasting both the substance and the handling of the party’s long-delayed release of their so-called autopsy report of the 2024 presidential campaign, calling it “disingenuous.”

“[Biden] got on the debate stage, and it was obvious to everyone. You didn’t have to be a psychiatric or a medical professional to realize he was not up to the job,” Cuomo said Sunday on WABC radio’s “The Pulse of the People” show.

“Where was everyone? Where was the Democratic Party? Where was the chief of staff? Where were his strategists? … The man was incapable of doing another four years,” he added.

The comments followed the release of the draft of a report commissioned by the Democratic National Committee about how the party handled the 2024 race for the White House. The conclusion was that the blame went to Joe Biden allies for failing to rally the support for Vice President Kamala Harris fast enough, according to the New York Post.

The draft by former Bill Clinton strategist Paul Rivera notably didn’t even mention Biden’s obvious mental and physical decline. It also didn’t address Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz being picked as Harris’ eventual running mate or the party’s shift regarding Israel after the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre.

Cuomo, who was defeated last year as a candidate for mayor of New York City by current Mayor Zohran Mamdani, said of the report, “it really cast doubt on the Democratic establishment — and rightfully so.” He specifically called out Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and other party leaders who said nothing about Biden’s obvious decline.
