Former President Joe Biden said Thursday during an appearance on ABC-TV's "The View" that he wasn't surprised then-GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump defeated his Democratic rival, then-Vice President Kamala Harris, in the 2024 presidential election.

Biden said low voter turnout, not Harris's qualifications, is the reason she lost, according to The New York Post.

“A lot of people didn’t show up,” said Biden, who was forced out of the race in late-July 2024 and replaced with Harris.

Biden also accused the 2024 Trump campaign of making sexist attacks toward Harris.

“I’ve never seen quite, uh, as successful and consistent campaign undercutting the notion that a woman couldn’t lead the country – and a woman of mixed race,” Biden said.

He also said he still "frequently" talks to Harris.
