Jack Schlossberg, Democratic candidate for New York’s 12th Congressional District, reacted to the U.S. and Israeli military operation in Iran on Saturday and sparked controversy based on the comments on his page on the social media platform X.

"I’m calling for REGIME CHANGE IN THE UNITED STATES," Schlossberg, grandson of former President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, wrote on X.

"NO LEGAL BASIS FOR WAR WITH IRAN. Congress alone has the power to declare war. REMOVE THIS PRESIDENT. EVERY DAY GETS MORE DANGEROUS AND EXPENSIVE. Will @andrewschulz @joerogan and other Trump surrogates feel masculine enough to go fight this war themselves?" he wrote in a separate post.

While some initial comments on the posts were supportive of his statements, many were critical.

"I think it’s justified honestly," wrote one user, referencing the military operation in Iran.

"Your side already showed it does not stand for American citizens. Just continue to sit down," wrote another user.

"We already changing the regime. I revoked my Democratic Party membership!!!!" a different user responded.

One user tagged the FBI's X account and wrote: "Might want to keep and eye on this one."
