Mike Rogers projected to win Michigan Republican Senate primary: AP

Rogers had the endorsement of former President Donald Trump and has a background in law enforcement and previously served in the House.

Former GOP Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., is projected by the Associated Press to win the GOP Michigan Senate primary, The Washington Post reports. 

Rogers has 70% of the vote with 6% reporting. His opponents were former Rep. Justin Amash and Sherry O'Donnell.

Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., currently holds the Senate seat but announced in early 2023 that she would not be seeking re-election. 

Rogers had the endorsement of former President Donald Trump and has a background in law enforcement and previously served in the House.

Rogers will face Rep. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., in the November election.
