Dan Cogdell, who successfully defended Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton during his 2023 impeachment trial and securities fraud case, has endorsed his opponent in Texas' Senate race.
Cogdell said Paxton is more focused on serving President Donald Trump than Texans, according to NOTUS. He said Paxton's Democratic challenger, Rep. James Talarico, "believes in unity over division" and will appeal to people on both sides of the aisle.
"I think Ken has lost sight of his core mission," Cogdell said in a statement.
Cogdell donated $6,500 in total to Paxton's campaign last year, but gave $1,000 to Talarico's campaign in March.
