Man with same name as Sen. Sullivan can appear on ballot in Alaska primary, judge says

Superior Court Judge Thomas Matthews’ overturned a June 15 decision by Division of Elections Director Carol Beecher to disqualify the man so he could not appear on the ballot, the Associated Press reported

A man who has the same name and party affiliation as Alaska Republican U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan can run against the senator in the August primary and appear on the ballot, a judge ruled Friday. 

Superior Court Judge Thomas Matthews’ overturned a June 15 decision by Division of Elections Director Carol Beecher to disqualify the man so he could not appear on the ballot, the Associated Press reported. 
 
“Instead, the decision was based upon a new, previously unstated, ‘good faith’ criteria,” the judge wrote in the ruling
