Incumbent Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo won a crowded Republican primary Tuesday night in his bid for reelection, the Associated Press projected, defeating six other candidates who were vying for the nomination.

The victory comes after President Donald Trump endorsed Lombardo on Monday, praising his experience in law enforcement and his military service. Lombardo's nomination marks the latest endorsement victory for the president ahead of the midterms.

Lombardo, who was first elected in 2022, was shown to have received 91% of the vote on Wednesday with 89% of the votes counted. He will face Democrat Aaron Ford in November's general election.
