New York City Mayor Adams raises $1.5 million for reelection campaign
Incumbent candidate Adams is currently in a better situation financially than democratic socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani
New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced he has raised $1.5 million for his reelection campaign since June 10.
Incumbent candidate Adams is currently in a better situation financially than democratic socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani, who is currently leading the field, according to Politico.
He has just under $3 million in cash for the campaign, the news outlet reports.
Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-N.Y., announced earlier this week that he was launching an independent mayoral bid after he lost to Mamdani in the primary.
The other candidate in the race is GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa.
Real Clear Politics shows Mamdani leading second-place Cuomo by 10 points in their RealClear Polling average in a four-way race with Adams and Sliwa, with Adams in fourth place.
Adams slammed Mamdani's victory, claiming he is a "snake oil salesman" who is "saying anything to get elected."
