The New York Knicks requested Democratic New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani and his campaign stop using a logo closely resembling the team’s official one.
The team made the request in a cease-and-desist letter on Friday.
According to the team, Mamdani posted the logo on Instagram along with the message that read: "This is our year. This is our time. #NewYorkForever." It was tagged at Madison Square Garden. The logo has since been removed from his account.
A Knicks spokesperson emphasized that they “do not endorse Mr. Mamdani for Mayor” and any use of their copyrighted logo in his campaign is unauthorized.
The team also warned they might have to "pursue all legal remedies to enforce our rights," according to Fox News.
