A current Republican election official and a former one said that they expect litigation against President Donald Trump's executive order, signed last week, restricting mail voting will be successful.

Pennsylvania Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt and former Maricopa County, Arizona Recorder Stephen Riche told George Stephanopoulos on "This Week" that they expect lawsuits against the order will get it overturned.

"We want voters to know that the election is going to be free, fair, safe and secure, and that everyone knows what the rules are prior to going into this. So confusion is never a positive thing unless you are seeking to sow distrust in the outcome of an election," Schmidt said.

On Friday, 23 Democratic states, led by California, filed a lawsuit in the U.S. district court in Massachusetts, CBS News reported
