Fox News 'Gutfeld!' show regular Kat Timpf diagnosed with breast cancer hours before giving birth
The comedic pundit said she's been diagnosed with Stage 0 breast cancer but still has been advised by doctors to get a double mastectomy as soon as possible.
Fox News personality Kat Timpf, who appears on her colleague Greg Gutfeld's late-night show regularly, was diagnosed with breast cancer 15 hours before she gave birth to her baby.
She told her followers on X not to worry because, according to her doctor, it is Stage 0, which means that the cancer "almost certainly hasn't spread."
The National Breast Cancer Foundation stated on its website that people diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer have a high survival rate, claiming that the five-year relative survival rate for those diagnosed at this stage is approximately 99%.
According to the foundation, the high survival rate is attributed to the fact that stage 0 cancer cells have not yet spread beyond the original site in the breast tissue.
"Still, it was not a chill day. I mean, to say the least!" Timpf wrote, adding that she visited multiple doctors who told her that "the best course of action would likely be a double mastectomy as soon as possible."
Timpf then made some jokes about the situation, adding that the "people who work at hospitals make excellent audiences for dark humor."
"As someone whose first book was about the power of jokes to get through traumatic situations, there was really no better place for me to be," she wrote.
Gutfeld, Fox News anchor and Executive Editor Martha MacCallum and Fox News contributor Guy Benson were among her colleagues who supported Timpf on X.
"We’re all here for you, Kat!" Gutfeld wrote.
Other people, including Voice of America's Director Kari Lake, Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon, and Hollywood actor Dean Cain, also prayed for her to win the battle against cancer.
"Praying for your full recovery. Congratulations on the precious baby that is in your arms. You are a Mama Bear. You can do anything!" Lake wrote.
