Just 8% back Musk over Trump in deficit spat: Poll
The lion's share of adults, however, want little to do with the social media dust up.
Former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) chief Elon Musk appears to be almost going it alone in his feud with President Donald Trump over the "big, beautiful bill's" spending provisions, according to a recent poll.
Musk, on Thursday, posted a flurry of criticisms of the legislation that then devolved into personal attacks on Trump, including a claim that the Epstein files had not been released due to Trump's presence in the documents.
Just 8% of U.S. adults indicated they would back Musk over Trump amid the deficit row in a recent YouGov survey. Twenty-eight percent would back the president, if forced to choose.
The lion's share of adults, however, want little to do with the social media dust up, with 52% saying they would side with neither and 11% undecided.
Conducted June 5, the survey questioned 3,812 U.S. adults.
