House Speaker Mike Johnson will swear in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva, D-Ariz., ahead of an expected vote to reopen the government.
Grijalva won a special election this year to replace her late father. Her swearing-in was on hold amid the shutdown.
While her swearing-in is not expected to present a challenge to reopening the government, she is expected to support a measure to force a vote on releasing the Epstein Files and would represent the pivotal vote, Punchbowl News reported.
Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., introduced the measure with the support of Democratic lawmakers amid widespread public frustration with Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Trump administration's handling of the issue.
Bondi fell into the public cross hairs after a botched press stunt in which she presented influencers with binders of largely public information about the case, but did not release an expected "client list."
