Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., on Tuesday confirmed he would oppose President Donald Trump's nominee to serve as the U.S. Attorney for D.C., Ed Martin, citing differences of opinion over the Biden Department of Justice's prosecutions of Jan. 6 participants.

"Most of my concerns related to January 6th," Tillis told reporters. "I've indicated to the White House I wouldn't support his nomination."

Tillis's comments follow Trump on Monday pushing lawmakers to expedite his confirmation.

"Ed Martin is going through the approval process to be U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia," Trump posted. "According to many but, in particular, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., his approval is IMPERATIVE in terms of doing all that has to be done to SAVE LIVES and to, MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN."

"Ed is coming up on the deadline for Voting and, if approved, HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. When some day in the future you look back at your Vote for Ed Martin, you will be very proud of what you have done for America and America’s Health," he added.
