Trump, this week, spoke with Xi amid ongoing tensions between both nations over tariffs. Trump announced the talks themselves after the phone call, which he insisted "resulted in a very positive conclusion for both Countries."
"During the conversation, President Xi graciously invited the First Lady and me to visit China, and I reciprocated. As Presidents of two Great Nations, this is something that we both look forward to doing. The conversation was focused almost entirely on TRADE," he added at the time.
As of yet, neither party has confirmed a planned trip to the other's country.
