Trump demands 'conflicted' Intel CEO step down
Intel is a major manufacturer of processors and semiconductors.
President Donald Trump on Thursday urged Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan to step down, calling him "highly conflicted" but declining to elaborate.
"The CEO of INTEL is highly CONFLICTED and must resign, immediately. There is no other solution to this problem. Thank you for your attention to this problem!" he said.
Intel is a major manufacturer of processors and semiconductors. Though Trump did not explain why he sought Tan's resignation, it comes as he urges American tech firms to return production to the United States.
Trump, earlier this week, announced that Apple would make an additional $100 billion investment in the U.S. to bring more manufacturing to the country.
