Trump insists jobs numbers 'RIGGED' to help Kamala
Notably, the BLS made its revisions in the same direction under both Trump and Biden.
President Donald Trump on Friday opined that the Bureau of Labor Statistics had deliberately rigged the monthly jobs numbers to appear more favorable to President Joe Biden and less so under his presidency for political reasons.
"In my opinion, today’s Jobs Numbers were RIGGED in order to make the Republicans, and ME, look bad — Just like when they had three great days around the 2024 Presidential Election, and then, those numbers were 'taken away' on November 15, 2024, right after the Election, when the Jobs Numbers were massively revised DOWNWARD, making a correction of over 818,000 Jobs — A TOTAL SCAM," Trump posted on Truth Social. "Jerome “Too Late” Powell is no better! But, the good news is, our Country is doing GREAT!"
Trump made the remarks after publicly announcing that he had ordered the firing of Dr. Erika McEntarfer as commissioner of labor statistics. He specifically highlighted that she was a Biden political appointee and blamed downward revisions for the May and June jobs numbers being revised down.
