Trump lowers temperature in response to Elon Musk
Trump's remarks follow Musk starting a public row between the pair of the "big, beautiful bill's" spending provisions.
President Donald Trump on Thursday appeared to attempt a deescalation in his mounting feud with Elon Musk, ignoring a jab about his presence in the Epstein files and focusing on the positive attributes of his legislative priorities.
"I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago," Trump posted. "This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress. It’s a Record Cut in Expenses, $1.6 Trillion Dollars, and the Biggest Tax Cut ever given. If this Bill doesn’t pass, there will be a 68% Tax Increase, and things far worse than that."
"I didn’t create this mess, I’m just here to FIX IT. This puts our Country on a Path of Greatness. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" he added.
Trump's remarks follow Musk starting a public row between the pair of the "big, beautiful bill's" spending provisions. The spat escalated with Trump suggesting the government balance its budget by canceling subsidies to Elon Musk's companies, after which Musk stated that the government had failed to release the Epstein files due to Trump's place in them.
"Time to drop the really big bomb: [Donald Trump] is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!" Musk posted.
