Trump touts mass deportations amid backlash over planned farm carveout
The post follows Trump declaring in a press conference that he was preparing an executive order that would block deportations for illegal aliens working in the agricultural and hospitality sectors.
President Donald Trump on Thursday issued a forceful declaration of support for mass deportations amid mounting backlash over his comments suggesting he planned to exempt illegal aliens working on farms and in the hotel industry from deportations.
"Biden let 21 Million Unvetted, Illegal Aliens flood into the Country from some of the most dangerous and dysfunctional Nations on Earth — Many of them Rapists, Murderers, and Terrorists," he posted. "This tsunami of Illegals has destroyed Americans' Public Schools, Hospitals, Parks, Community Resources, and Living Conditions."
"They have stolen American Jobs, consumed BILLIONS OF DOLLARS in Free Welfare, and turned once idyllic Communities, like Springfield, Ohio, into Third World Nightmares," he added. "I campaigned on, and received a Historic Mandate for, the largest Mass Deportation Program in American History. Polling shows overwhelming Public Support for getting the Illegals out, and that is exactly what we will do."
"As Commander-in-Chief, I will always protect and defend the Heroes of ICE and Border Patrol, whose work has already resulted in the Most Secure Border in American History. Anyone who assaults or attacks an ICE or Border Agent will do hard time in jail," he went on. "Those who are here illegally should either self deport using the CBP Home App or, ICE will find you and remove you. Saving America is not negotiable!"
The post follows Trump declaring in a press conference that he was preparing an executive order that would block deportations for illegal aliens working in the agricultural and hospitality sectors.
"We're gonna have an order on that pretty soon I think... and leisure too," he said at a press conference “They’ve been there for 20, 25 years and they’ve worked great and the owner of the farm loves them and everything else.”
Earlier in the day, Trump teased upcoming "changes" to his immigration policy, saying "[o]ur great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace."
Social media was ablaze with conservative accounts fuming over the plans, calling it a surrender and a betrayal of his voters.
"[P]lease remember that we voted for mass deportations, not for amnesty of any kind," wrote the Immgration Accountability Project, in one of the tamer reaction posts. "Your successful deportation program presents a great opportunity to make jobs in agriculture, travel, and others more attractive to American workers. Let’s incentive farmers to mechanize."
"Amnesty Don!" wrote one account.
