Crews work to extinguish fuel tank fire in occupied Donetsk
Emergency crews worked to extinguish an explosive fire raging at a railway station in the occupied town of Shakhtarsk, in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, on October 26th. The emergency service of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR), the Russian-backed group that claims control over Donetsk Oblast, said twelve fuel tanks were ablaze at a railway station in Shakhtarsk following shelling. Ukraine’s Centre for Strategic Communication and Information Security published footage of the fire and claimed it was a result of “careless handling of electric welding devices by station employees who were in a state of alcohol intoxication.” The cause of the fire has not been verified.
