Heavy rain causes deadly flooding in Brazil's Sao Paulo
At least 26 people were confirmed dead after heavy rain lashed coastal areas of Brazil’s Sao Paulo state, the regional government said on Sunday adding that over 550 people were left displaced or homeless.
The National Civil Defense said 600 mm of rain fell in 24 hours in some areas. Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is scheduled to visit the region Monday and meet local leaders, local media reported.
