Newly released footage shows UK Coastguard rescuing family stranded on cliff in Wales
The UK coastguard said two adults and two children were winched to safety after they found themselves cut off by the tide on rocks below Llansteffan Castle in Wales on Sunday, November 6.
His Majesty's Coastguard said it was alerted by a passer-by who was concerned about the safety of four people on the beach. A lifeboat rescue team located the family on a cliff below the castle, but the rocky terrain, paired with the strength of the swell of the estuary, prevented a water-based rescue.
A helicopter was requested and managed to “winch the family to safety,” according to a statement from maritime commander George Close. Credit: HM Coastguard via Storyful
