Senate Democrats condemn PGA Tour’s ‘absolutely abhorrent merger’ with Saudi-backed LIV Golf
Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) criticized the PGA Tour for striking a partnership with Saudi Arabian LIV Golf Tuesday. Sen. Blumenthal called into question Saudi Arabia’s alleged complicity in the 9-11 terrorist attacks while addressing reporters about the merger in Washington. “These PGA officials owe not only an apology, they owe support to the 9/11 families in their quest for justice against Saudi Arabia,” said Sen. Blumenthal. Sen. Murphy accused LIV Golf of agreeing to the merger to erase their “dizzying campaign of political repression.”
